bracelet [via French from, ultimately, Latin bracchiale, "armlet", from brachium, "arm"]: A piece of jewelry, e.g., a chain or a bangle, that is worn around the wrist or arm. brachia (plural); brachium (singular); brachial: 1. Arm; the part of the upper limb from shoulder to elbow. 2. A general term used to designate an armlike process or structure. brachialgia: Pain in the arm or arms.
 brachiathon: 1. A mode of locomotion, characteristic of some arboreal animals, in which the animals swing from one handhold to the next. It is well developed in gibbons.  2. Locomotion in a position of suspension by means of the hands and arms, as exhibited by monkeys when swinging from branch to branch. brachiform: Shaped or bent like an arm.
 brachiocephalic: A reference to the arm and head.
 brachiocrural: Pertaining to the arm and leg.
 brachiocubital: A reference to the arm and elbow or forearm.
 brachiocrytosis, brachiocyllosis: A crookedness of the arm.
 brachiocyllosis: An abnormal curvature of the arm.
 brachiofacial: Pertaining to or affecting the arm and face.
 brachiofaciolingual: Pertaining to or affecting the arm, face, and tongue.
 brachiogram: A tracing of the brachial artery pulse.
 brachiopod: A bivalve mollusc distinguished by having, on each side of the mouth, a long spiral arm, used in procuring food.
 brachioradialis: A muscle lying on the lateral side of the forearm.
 Brachiosaurus, Brachiosaur: A genus of huge dinosaurs, with the forelegs longer than the hind legs; also, an animal of this genus.
brachiothoraco-omphaloischiopagus: Conjoined twins joined from the forearms and shoulder to the pelvis. brachiotomy: The surgical removal of an arm, especially of a fetal arm to effect delivery. The procedure is considered to be obsolete.
 embrace, embraceable: To hug someone in one's arms fondly, or to hug each other fondly.
 macrobrachia: A condition of having abnormally thick or long arms.
 microbrachia: An abnormal smallness of the arms.
 tribrachia: Condition seen in conjoined twins when the fusion has merged the adjacent arms to form a single one, so that there are only three arms for the two bodies.
