nosomania:
1. An obsession with imagined disease; such as, hypochondriacism or hypochondriasis.
2. An unfounded morbid belief that one is suffering from some special disease.
nosometry:
1. The quantification of the amount of disease in a population.
2. Measurement of morbidity or of the sickness rate in certain occupations and social conditions.
nosomycosis:
Any fungal disease or infection.
nosonomy:
The naming of diseases.
nosoparasite:
1. An organism associated with a particular disease and able to modify its coarse, but not serving as the actual causal agent; or to put it another way: a microorganism found in conjunction with a disease process that, while capable of modifying the course of the disease, is not its cause.
2. A pathogenic parasite that attacks only already diseased tissues.
nosophilia:
An abnormal or morbid desire to be ill.
nosophobia, nosemaphobia:
1. An irrational dread of sickness or of some particular disease.
2. A fear of disease; usually associated with no discoverable organic illness, or if the latter is present, the fear is grossly exaggerated and has been superimposed upon the natural concern about the illness.
nosophyte:
1. Any pathogenic vegetable organism.
2. A plant microorganism that can give rise to pathologic conditions in humans or other hosts.
nosopoietic:
Causing or producing disease.
nosotherapy:
1. The medical treatment of a disease.
2. The use of one disease to treat another; such as, malaria-induced fever for the treatment of central nervous system syphilis.

Producing nosotoxicosis.

The quality of being nosotoxic.

Any disease due to or associated with poisoning; a morbid state caused by a toxin.

Any toxin causing or associated with disease.

1. The care and nursing of the sick.

A disease expressed by persistent and unpleasant dreams.

An advantage that one receives as a result of illness; applies to primary gain such as freedom from work.

A disease that results from intense or glaring light, such as snow blindness.

The classification of mental illnesses and behavioral disorders.
saprozoonosis:
An animal disease that requires both a vertebrate host and a non-animal (food, soil, plant) reservoir or developmental site for completion of its cycle.
trichonosis, trichonosus, trichosis:
1. A disease resulting from eating raw or inadequately cooked pork (or bear or walrus meat in Alaska) that contains encysted larvae of the nematode parasite Trichinella spiralis.
2. Trichopathy or any disease of the hair.
xeronosus:
Xerosis; pathologic dryness of the skin (xeroderma), the conjunctiva (xerophthalmia), or mucous membranes.
zooanthroponosis:
An animal disease normally maintained by humans but which can be transmitted to other vertebrates; e.g., amebiasis to dogs, tuberculosis, etc.
zoonosia:
An infection or infestation shared in nature by humans and other animals that are the normal or usual host; a disease of humans acquired from an animal source.
zoonosis, zoonotic, anthropozoonosis:
1. Any disease of lower animals that may be transmitted to mankind; e.g., rabies, brucellosis.
2. A disease communicated from one kind of animal to another or to a human being; usually restricted to diseases transmitted naturally to man from animals.
zoonosologist:
A specialist in the diseases of animals.
