-ium (Modern Latin: a suffix used to form Modern Latin scientific names; or a modern suffix used to form names of metallic elements [chemistry]).

For example, most of the chemical elements end with "ium" to express the Modern Latin suffix; although there are some that end with "ine”, or other suffixes, or no special endings:
